JYI 2025 Internship Program

Welcome to the JYI Internship Program!

Are you a junior or senior in high school looking for a unique and comprehensive learning experience? Look no further than JYI's one-month internship program!

At JYI, we believe that the best way to learn is by doing. That's why each intern will work 15 hours per week, shadowing an executive member in one of the following roles:

  • CEO's Office Intern

  • EIC's Office Intern

  • Associate Editor Intern

  • News and Careers Intern

  • Translations Intern

  • Copy Editor Intern

  • Development Officer Intern

  • Communications Officer Intern

  • Operations Manager Intern

The JYI internship program is much more than just work. It's an experience that includes ceremonies, game nights, masterclasses, and other activities designed to help you grow and learn.

During the opening ceremony, you'll meet the other interns and learn about what makes JYI such a special organization. Throughout the month, you'll attend masterclasses led by experts in their fields, learn new skills, and get hands-on experience working with our executive team.

At the closing ceremony, you'll reflect on your experience, share what you learned with the other interns, and receive a certificate of completion to add to your resume.

Application process

The JYI internship program is selective, but we believe that the application process is an important part of the learning experience. We require an academic transcript and proof of enrollment, as well as a CV and answers to three questions stating your interest in joining JYI. If selected for the first round of interviews, you'll meet with the CEO and/or COO. If you pass the first round, you'll meet with the head of the department responsible for the role you're interested in. We will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis so we recommend that you don’t delay your application.
