Maya Gosztyla is a junior at the Ohio State University. She is double majoring in Neuroscience and Molecular Genetics with a minor in Creative Writing. Her current research examines the molecular mechanisms of axon guidance in fruit flies. After graduation, she plans to pursue a PhD in Neuroscience and eventually conduct research for the NIH, with her main research interest being the epigenetic and neurological mechanisms of Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. Outside of her research, Maya is highly involved in activism and education efforts related to Alzheimer's disease and brain health. In her free time, she enjoys playing the violin and watching anime.
