Weill Cornell/Rockefeller/ Sloan-Kettering Gateways to The Laboratory Summer Program
In 1993, the Weill Cornell/Rockefeller/Sloan-Kettering Tri-Institutional MD-PhD Program became the first MD-PhD Program in the country to establish a summer program for underrepresented minority and disadvantaged college students who wish to pursue the combined MD-PhD degree. While we’ve “trained” other MD-PhD Programs over the years in running such a successful summer program, to this day, we are the only such program which focuses on freshman and sophomore college students. The Gateways to the Laboratory Program is highlighted by the NIH as one of the top ten summer programs for underrepresented and disadvantaged students.
