The Summer Undergraduate Program in Engineering Research at Berkeley – Computer Science in the Interest of Society (SUPERB-CSIS) in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (EECS) Department is to prepare and motivate a group of diverse, competitive candidates for graduate study. The research focus of the REU site will be computer science in the context of solving societal problems, including health, national security and technology for underdeveloped countries. SUPERB affirms students’ motivation for graduate study and strengthens their qualifications through strong faculty mentoring and challenging research projects.

The program is open to U.S Citizens and permanent residents.

Eligibility

A minimum overall GPA of 3.0 is required with upward trends in grades being preferable. The program is open to students with or without prior research experience, and students who have not participated in SUPERB previously.
