Yvonne Yen

Neuroscience
University of California, Los Angeles, expected 2017

Yvonne Yen is currently a sophomore majoring in neuroscience at University of California, Los Angeles. She is actively involved in many research programs at her institution. She attends faculty research seminars during her spare time, and uses them as opportunities to learn more about experimental techniques that she may use in her own research project. Yvonne’s primary research experience aims to find the lineage of several types of human perivascular soft tissue tumors using known perivascular stem cell and mesenchymal stem cell markers. Success in discovering the lineage and characteristic immunophenotype of human perivascular soft tissue tumors can help improve the diagnosis and treatment of these tumors.
