Jordan majored in Psychology with minors in Biotechnology and Biology at California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo. Through pursuing biomedical research opportunities she realized her affinity for the medical sciences. In the fall she will be starting the Pre-Medical Post-Baccalaureate program at Georgetown University with the hopes of attending medical school and becoming a Neurologist or Oncologist. She has studied Glioma brain tumor formation at the University of Oregon, Alzheimer’s Disease at UCSF, regeneration at Cal Poly SLO, and the neuropsychological consequences of concussions in professional sports at the Neurobehavioral Clinic and Counseling Center. Outside of school she has worked as a biochemistry/biology tutor, an office assistant, a barista, and has actively volunteered in her community. She enjoys reading books on neuroplasticity, reading case studies in NEJM, hiking, running, drawing, and playing fantasy football.

JYI has a peer-review process through which undergraduate research editors work with faculty mentors at their institutions to determine the validity of journal submissions. This process closely mimics those found in other professional research journals.
