Divya Manoharan

Divya Manoharan is a medical student at the University of Edinburgh, UK. She is a Canadian who directly entered into medical school in the UK after completing her high school in Toronto. She is currently based at hospitals and is completing her specialty rotations/clerkships. Divya has a strong passion for both clinical medicine and medical research (academic medicine) and continues to balance both at medical school. She intercalated to gain a BMedSci (Hons) from University of St Andrews and completed her dissertation in oncology last year. She continues to conduct both laboratory and clinical research in areas such as cardiology, nephrology, radiology and surgery, has presented her works at both national and international meetings and has obtained publications and prizes from her research. In addition to being a copy-editor in JYI, she is an associate editor of the Journal of Res Medica and Scottish University Medical Journal. She has a tremendous interest in interventional cardiology and aspires to complete a PhD later in her career. She plans to return to North America for specialty training. Her hobbies include astronomy, photography, sketching, and rubik's cubing.
