Courtney Peterson, Ph.D.
DR. COURTNEY M. PETERSON recently received her Ph.D. in physics from Harvard University. For her Ph.D., she studied theoretical cosmology, with an emphasis on inflationary models of the very early universe. In the Fall of 2011, she assumed an NIH-funded T32 post-doctoral fellowship at Pennington Biomedical Research Center, where she is focusing on clinical diabetes, metabolism, and body composition research. In the past, she has served as a Fellowships Tutor, a Resident Tutor, and a Teaching Fellow, for which she received a Harold T. White Prize for Excellence in Teaching. Prior to her Ph.D., Courtney received a M.Sc. in Science Communication from Imperial College London (2004) and a Master's degree in theoretical physics at Cambridge University (Part III of the Math Tripos), while on a Marshall Scholarship. Courtney served on JYI's Executive Management from 1999-2004 as Chief Financial Officer, Chief Technical Officer, Editor-in-Chief, and Chief Executive Officer, and was an Associate Editor previously. She is currently the Chair of the Board of Directors.
