Science Career Researchers
The recently launched Science Career Center is looking for Career Researchers to report on science careers in all fields, including academia, industry, government, science communication and teaching. This is an exciting position which requires the researcher to network with professionals in all fields, interview people nationally and internationally, gather statistics and career facts to write informative articles for college students all over the country. No experience is necessary and CR's will be officially trained in science journalism for this position. The SCC is collaborating with prominent leaders in science, such as Science magazine, so this is an opportunity to network and learn valuable skills while helping your colleagues.
Job Requirements: The Career Researcher position, like most JYI staff positions, requires an average commitment of at least 5 hours per week. All communication is via internet or phone, so no geographical constraints exist – Career Researchers may live anywhere in the world. All JYI staff are expected to check their email daily and respond promptly if necessary.
Preferred Skills or Experience: Career Researchers must be enthusiastic about helping undergraduates get information they need about career choices. Formal writing experience is preferred but not required – JYI will provide training.
