News and Features
As a journal, JYI is a learning opportunity for students of all disciplines. The News and Features Department provides a forum for undergraduates from all over the world to learn the craft of science journalism. We create high quality science news content, as well as writing creative feature articles that present a unique perspective on a scientific issue. We hope to better facilitate communication between science experts and the lay public, fostering excitement and appreciation for the scientific breakthroughs of history and today.
A team of Journalists, shared with the Science Careers Center (SCC), writes the original content for the News and Features Department. The pieces are peer-reviewed by our News and Features Editors (NFEs) and then sent for further edits to a Science Writing Mentor (SWM), a professional science journalist who guides and develops our undergraduate science journalists and editors. Everything is organized and overseen by the Senior News and Features Editor (SNFE), Maren Hunsberger.
If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please feel free to contact the Senior News and Features Editor at firstname.lastname@example.org. We are always open to suggestions, and hope to bring you the highest quality content!
