In addition to our list, the National Science Foundation Research Experiences for Undergraduates also funds a variety of summer research opportunities in many college campuses across the U.S. in fields ranging from biomedical medical sciences to economic studies.

One of the founding fathers of JYI, Brian Su, became the youngest person to co-PI a grant from the NSF. The purpose of the grant was to fund the start-up costs for JYI.
