Shiv Gaglani

Shiv Gaglani is an undergraduate at Harvard College in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He will graduate in Spring 2010 with a Bachelors degree in Engineering Sciences, specifically Biomedical Engineering. He has actively been involved with research since his freshmen year of high school at West Shore High in Melbourne, Florida. Over the last six years he has completed eight different projects in the fields of tissue engineering, neuroscience, behavioral science, genetic engineering, stem cells, nanotechnology and regenerative medicine. He has authored two papers in professional journals and has had his conceptual designs published in three other journals. He has presented his posters at a number of conferences, including the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) conference and Harvard Undergraduate Research Symposium (HURS). Shiv founded the Harvard College Undergraduate Research Association (www.hcura.org) during his freshman year. HCURA now has over 250 members and is responsible for organizing annual symposia, hosting monthly faculty talks, and fostering an interdisciplinary science community.
