Council for the Advancement of Science Writing A great resource for students interested in science writing as a career. http://www.nasw.org/users/casw/booklet.htm NatureJobs Supported by the publishing group Nature, this science career site splits jobs into two “channels”: physical sciences and life sciences. Each channel features news and feature stories, along with a job search engine. As of June 2005, the site had 169 physical science jobs and over 1,000 life science jobs posted. The jobs were divided evenly between full time and part-time positions, spanning everything from university faculty positions, to fellowships, to facilities managers. With big-time employers such as Proctor & Gamble, The Institute of Cancer Research, and GE (to name a few), this is definitely a site worth checking out. http://www.nature.com/naturejobs/index.html Rutgers University Career Services Rutgers provides information about careers in science, including all of the different available jobs and types of employers. http://careerservices.rutgers.edu ScienceCareers.org This job site offered by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) allows job seekers to search over 800 science and technology jobs throughout the United States. The site also features resume and interview tips, a forum, and graduate program and employer profiles. Information about Science’s two yearly job fairs is also available. The site is largely geared professionals in research-based science careers, but opportunities in marketing, sales, and academic positions are also included. http://www.sciencecareers.org ScienceJobs.com Article New Scientist hosts this career site, which job hunters to search over 1,600 science jobs worldwide. Biologists, chemists, and medical students will get the most from this site, but there are also listings for patents, sales, and journalism job openings.
