Welcome to JYI’s Science Career Center website!

The SCC was developed to help undergraduates understand the opportunities and diversity of careers available in science. Our team of Career Researches work to publish articles about unique careers in science. Currently, our goal is to develop a comprehensive listing of undergraduate summer internships, to promote the mission of JYI by encouraging undergraduate research, writing, peer review and publication. This information should be available within the next few months.

JYI’s Career Researchers spend hours sifting through thousands of pages of career information, interviewing of science professionals, and compiling the results of their efforts into a collection of succinct, easy-to-read articles. Currently, the SCC features information on five branches of science careers: Academia, Government, Industry, Science Communication, and Teaching.

Because the SCC is a developing program, we will constantly be updating and adding stories over the next months. We look forward to providing more interviews, more articles, and up-to-date career outlook reports for our readers.

Our hope is that with more adequate information, students will be better equipped to successfully pursue science-related careers.
