Siddhartha Yadav, a Research Editor in Biological and Biomedical Sciences, and to
Atul Karki, a Science Journalist.
Siddhartha Yadav is a Research Editor in Biological and Biomedical Sciences. He recently completed his Bachelor in Medicine and Bachelor in Surgery (MBBS) from Tribhuvan University in Nepal. He was honored to be selected as the staff of the month.
He joined JYI in April 2008 as a training RE and later on became a reviewing RE. And now that he has already graduated, he is leaving JYI. Working with JYI taught him a lot of aspects of research and scientific writing. It made him think critically and improved his understanding of the research process. In return, he hoped that he was able to contribute positively to JYI as well.
Apart from JYI, Siddhartha has worked with the British Medical Journal (BMJ) on a short term contract as a Clegg Scholar. He also worked on publications in Standing Committee of Public Health (SCOPH) of International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA) for a year.
He has published more than ten news and feature articles in international journals and conducted public health and clinical research. He is so fascinated by clinical research that he would like to pursue a career in it in the future. Altitude medicine, public health and human rights are his other interests. He loves writing blogs on these issues.
He thoroughly enjoyed his time in JYI. He is grateful to all his associate editors who came up with excellent reviews and were always willing to do a bit extra when asked for. He is also thankful to Alex and Mati for their constant support, guidance and encouragement. He will definitely miss his days with JYI. He truly wishes that he can get involved with JYI in some way in future. He wishes JYI all the best in all its future endeavors. Thank you everyone!
Atul Karki is a recent medical graduate from Institute of Medicine (IOM), Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) Nepal. Having joined the college of his dreams some six year back, he am now looking forward to making better use of the skills and knowledge he has learned at the school. He is delighted to be voted as the staff of the month and would like to thank his team at News and Feature Department for this honor. He feels that he is quite lucky to have such wonderful people around him. Special thank goes to Falishia, Mati and Siddhartha, who retired recently, for their constant support and encouragement.
